Locality Description: Rio Nanay, Puerto Almendras, a 20 km SW of Iquitos, 03 45' S, 73 15' W.Moist forest on terra firme. Sandy soil, poorly drained in places. Area said to have been selectively logged of meliaceous species in the past.
Botanical Data
Plant Notes: Coarse herb, little-branched, to 1.2 m, calyx and corolla fleshy, deep orange, fruit reddish-orange. Infusion of leaves (fresh or dry) applied to burns or wounds.
